Icon5 bumpy ride with new wheels?

just got new wheels and tires for my 88 ef, i went with 15x7 +35 wrapped in 195/50/15 and now i feel every bump on the road. before the ride was relatively smooth but now its like even the smallest defect on the road i can feel it. is this normal or is there something i can do to fix this issue? (dont know if this is useful but im riding on stock suspension)

15x7 +35 should result in rubbing the fenders

The 195/50 is a shorter sidewall tire so it will be harsher ride. Depending on what tire you chose, it can be much harsher.
The wheels hopefully were balanced.

Tires are a functioning part of your suspension. As ACMOC said, if you are now running a wheel with less sidewall, then there will be less deflection in the tires when hitting bumps, hence you feel it more. drive on man....
