Let me get your address so I can call the cops for doing that..Then Ill tell you.
Jeez, Dont gut your cat. Its not good for the enviroment. Just buy a highflow cat. If you dont have money for that. Then get a second job, or work harder.

Don't... it's not worth it. Get a aftermarket one from Jegs, etc. and custom make one. Keep the old one just in case.

gutting the cat will defeat its purpose so why don't you just replace it with a straight pipe. it'll be cheap and probably a lot easier

all that i know is that it will cause a disturbance and an area where the exaust gas will collect rather than flow straight out, it will make very little diffrence at all

Buy a highflow cat. Or get a straight pipe if you don't have the money. That stuff inside the cat is cancerous.

my old cat was half gutted (not intentionally).. after replacing it with a stock one in good condition, i can honestly say the car has been running better ever since. no more CEL either.

Listen to someone thats had experience with this subject. I drilled out my stock cat. cause I used to read posts on how they, 'cleaned cats.' would flow alot better, well my experiences were bad, I had to wear a mask so I wouldn't breathe in the dust/particles, an also after I cleaned it I automaticaly got a my cel to come on, was annoying to see that damn light. About a month later my bumper had black exhaust dust all near the exhaust an near the spoiler, had to use meguires wax cleaner to get that stuff off. Oh yeah I didn't notice any difference with the cleaned cat. just sounded louder, I'm now running a carsound cat. with jdm 4-1 header
