So I bought a 1994 Honda Accord LX back in March 2018. When I start the car and just let it idle anywhere from 20-40 min in a stationary spot, the engine will overheat to the point where the temperature needle is fully in the RED zone. I’m not licensed yet and the car isn’t registered, however I will need this car functional by 9/19/2018 roughly. My biggest worry is that it’ll do this while I’m driving, now I know a car probably shouldn’t run that long I’m a stationary spot but again, I don’t want this to overheat going down the road. Would very much like feedback on what people think might be the problem. (I’ve had someone say it might be a faulty “Temperature Sending Unit” but me not knowing cars I wouldn’t know. Thanks!
