Ran my 05 Civic out of gas and she isn’t happy!!
I ran my 2005 civic 1.7 out of gas. Got gas. Took forever to start and now idles weird and will die sometimes. If just started and running, sounds fine. RPM gauge is a bit jumpy and when I hit 3500 RPM while accelerating, she acts like I am redlining her... I replaced the cam shaft position sensor three months back and it was doing the same thing. It IS spitting that code out again but I feel like the problem has to do with running out of gas. PLEASE help!!!

Have the fuel pump pressure tested. If you ran out of gas and it sucked air it could have caused the bearings in the pump to overheat and weaken the pump. In that car the pump bearings are cooled and lubricated by gasoline, so you should never run it completely out of gas. Also if it had some sediment at the bottom of the tank, the filter could have gotten clogged up.

I would second that it is possible when you ran it out of gas that you might have clogged up your fuel filter. But if your car is giving you a code, you should go off of that first.
