Can a cell phone cause a SRS Light DTC 15-3?
my car: 2002 Honda Accord EX Leather
Problem: SRS light is on.
Code: 15-3
What I have tried:
1. Installed new battery
2. Installed new battery cables positive and negative side (parts from dealer)
3. disconnected, cleaned, and reconnected cables to the OPDS unit in passenger seat.
after the cables were cleaned and reconnected I had limited success. the light went off for about a day. When it came back on I noticed that i had my cellphone turned on in the passenger seat.
here's a quote from the service bulletin 06-009:
Ask your customer if electrical devices such as a laptop computer or a fluorescent map light are ever used near the front passenger’s seat-back. (Some electrical devices that plug into the vehicle’s accessory power socket, especially those using a power inverter/converter, can interfere with the seat-back sensors and cause SRS DTC 15-3 to set.)
Service Manual Pp. 23-241
Note: Aftermarket devices (florescent map lights, laptop computers, etc.) used near the front passenger’s seat back can interfere with the seat back sensors and cause a false DTC 15-3. If one of these devices was used erase the DTC, operate the device near the seat back, and recheck for DTCs. If DTC 15-3 is reset, erase it and do not use the device near the seat back.
Is it possible that a cellphone, not connected accessory power, turned on and connected to cellular, wifi, and/or Bluetooth, would set a DTC 15-3? If so how do I use my cell phone in my car and not have any more problems with this car?
Does this have anything to do with the accessory power being on the same circuit with the SRS system? If it is I am willing to re-wire the Accessory power to a completely isolated circuit to a battery in the trunk if that is what is necessary to fix this. Is this a problem due to radio frequency or electromagnetic interference on the OPDS sensor in the seat?
I don't want to replace the sensor and the OPDS ECU if all I'm going to get is the same problem after I replace them. what should I do?

If the light goes out when you remove the phone for sure that's the issue, It's inducing a current into the OPDS sensor triggering the SRS light. Inducing the same way wireless charging works, get it?
