2015 Civic Ex-L plug
Found this plug laying next to that hole (I’m assuming the plug goes inside) but I have no idea what it is for and how long it has been like that. I put the plug in the hole but is there anything I should be worried about or get checked out?
Does it look like this?
Does it look like a rubber wine bottle cork with a L shaped handle? That'd be the CVT filler cork. After I changed the fluid mine would always pop out. Never lost it, it would always be laying right there beside the hole. The smell of a cattle barn is usually a good indicator that it has popped out. Apparently the tranny fluid causes the rubber to shrink or swell, and no longer stay put. I eventually got tired of putting it back in every couple days, so went to the dealer and ordered a new one.
