Default wot problems

i just bought a 1997 accord se with f22b2 and boya trans code.

car purrs like a kitten. new cap, rotor, ngk plugs and wires. looks like major top end work was done, professionally. new distibutor. shifts great, nice and crisp through all gears.

compression 145-148psi all cylinders. fuel pressure was 33psi with reg hooked up 42psi with it disconnected. checked for regulator function with vac, perfect. no misfire, no codes, no shuddering, nothing weird or outstanding at all until you floor it. power just falls flat on it's face and though the rpm creeps up to 4500 it just doesen't accelerate. what am i missing? it doesn't really want to shift at wot either, have to let off a little.

wifes friend has the same car/same engine/same color even with 400k miles and it scoots when you stomp it. her car is bone stock and run to death.

to clairify, part throttle - casual - sunday driving, the car is perfect. floor it and it's a turd. like tossing a boat anchor out the window. it's honestly faster from a part throttle launch than full throttle.

i've spent the whole week googling every possible cause. i even beat on the fuel relay while it was running and checked the tps values with my scanner. scanner starts at 9.3% value for tps closed and peaks at 88.5% for wot. no weird glitches through the sweep either... key on engine off while taking the reading. short term fuel trim was between +3 to +9% long term fuel trim was around +7%.

one reading i thought was a bit off was caculated engine load... most vehicles i've scanned it's less than 8%... this car was 28.7% :/

figured it out... it was the metal end cap to the knock off K&N. the filter must have been horribly dirty at some point cause it got sucked through the filter and was blocking most of the tb... i've spent over a week diagnosing this thing, finally gave up and went to my brothers shop. told him everything i had found so far. told him about the being off a tooth with the timing belt. checked all that, checked backpressure, checked a few other things... he decided he wanted to look at the throttlebody. he pulled the tube and we heard something metal clanking around. knew what it was the moment it hit the ground. it explained everything. we threw everything back together and i knew something had changed dramatically the moment i put it in reverse. took it out on the road to be sure and lit em up pulling out.

now i'm trying to decide whether to tell the previous owner what caused him to dump this car for $500 after he dumped thousands into it was a chinsy piece of tin off the ebay filter.
