I have a 1997 honda cr-v with approx 168,000. I have owned the vehicle one year and 4 mos. it was a one owner vehicle and serviced regularly. Great vehicle however, about 5 to 6 months ago i noticed some slight misfiring especially when accelerating from stop. so i changed the spark plugs after discovering one was burnt. Since then car has ran great until a few weeks ago when i left my daughters on my way home while doing 40 mph my car died as if i had turned it off. i pulled over and checked the battery first due to a loose connector on the positive terminal. i tightened it or stuck a screw in it to be sure it connected. the car started and i made it home. i replaced the terminal thinking that was the prob. Until it happened again same thing without warning while driving approx 55 mph. car dies i pull over to the side of road raise the hood only this time i know its not the battery terminal. My flashers lights everything works........This time it took about 20 to 30 minutes before my car would start back up. When this This issue first started it would only happen every few days sometimes a week 2 weeks...... and it seemed worse when the temperature outside was 90 degrees or hotter. But Now it is dying before i can make out of the parking lot of my apts. So far i have the rotor and coil parts of the dizzy. A friend has recommended also changing the ignitor also called ignition control module inside the dizzy. and possibly the main fuel pump relay as possible causes of intermintant stalling. im confused and distraught. Im a single female i live alone i work hard but i am budgeted as far as expensive car parts, repairs and dishonest mechanics that will charge me for all kinds of parts and labor that i dont need. please if you can at least help me narrow down and/or where to start to figure out the problem i appreciate any and all suggestions and input. PLEASE HELP I NEED MY CAR RUNNING TO GET TO WORK
