I have a sohc D16Y8, is it possible to switch it to a dohc?

 

Can you swap in a complete larger DOHC engine and transmission... yes. Can you install a DOHC cylinder head on your SOHC D16Y8 block... yes, the early '86-89 Integra D16A1 DOHC cylinder head (or JDM DOHC "ZC" cylinder head) can be installed... BUT WHY ??? It makes the same HP as what you have now with the Y8 head and you will have to do a great deal of parts swapping to make it happen. You cannot swap a DOHC VTEC head over... and I think that is probably what you are asking even though you didn't ask a very specific question.
