Default Turn signals on solid

I've had an issue start the last few days where my turn signals are on solid, be it either the left side, right side or if i put my hazards on, they're not blinking. Twice this has happened and I found by fiddling with the hazard light button, very gently pushing it in, lightly, like REALLY lightly so there was a weird fizzing noise, the blinking started to work again. It then happened again today where it the went solid, pushed the hazard button in a bit and got them blinking again only for them to go solid on the drive home. Should also mention the fuse is fine, I swapped it for the spare and no change.

I've read about bulbs blowing but assuming there is 1 bulb for each of the 4 lights, these are all working fine. I also saw something about a part called the 'turn signal flasher' but I think was a generic post about another car, not a Civic.

Anyone experienced this and know what the issue could be for me to try and fix?

Yep, you need to likely replace your turn signal flasher under your dash.

I'm just looking on Rock Auto and only see Turn Signal Relay, would this be the same part? If so is it an easy replacement or know if there is a DIY guide available? (I did search but couldn't turn up much)

The turn signal relay is what's being discussed here, yes. There are some solid state versions you can get at your unfriendly local parts store - and then you can buy ALL THE LEDs (yes I have a problem). The Novita EP34 is what IffyZone lists: https://www.autozone.com/electrical-...9_642137_11714

If your signals are on constantly, your relay should then be constantly closed, maybe the internals got melty. If you have/can get a multi-meter you can check the relay for this - it's under the dash on the internal fuse panel.

So i ordered a new relay and will see if that fixes it when it arrives. I did take out the current one and it looks fine but hopefully thats all it is.

And the same time i've noticed something funky with my lights im wondering if someone could confirm. Firstly on the corner lamps, are they meant to flash yellow when the turn signal is on? On the rear when I have the lights on one side appears to have 2 bulbs lit where as the other side only has one but when i step on the brake pedal all lights illuminate and they both look the same. I'm not sure what the deal is with that?

Make sure the bulbs are correct for the functions. If you put a brake light bulb in a parking light or turn signal you get strange things happening.

Ok so i switched the bulbs around and the one of one on pattern followed so its the bulb. But now i'm not sure which is meant to be the norm. The pic above is when parked. the bulb that isn't illuminated lights up when i put my foot on the pedal. Does anyone know what the intended bulb behavior actually is?

New relay was delivered today, despite it being a little different in shape, popped it in and all flashing is now working again! Thanks all.

UPDATE - Looks like i spoke too soon. the left turn signal and hazards work fine and blink away but when i use the right one it blinks and hyper speed really fast! Any ideas, could it be that i have the wrong relay? The new one was a bit bigger than the one i took out but it did go in and obviously works to some extent

All fixed, replaced a turn signal bulb and blinking is working as normal now with one exception.

My corner lights, both bulbs in them light up when I turn my headlights on but the orange corner light is meant to blink when the turn signals are on but they don't they just stay on solid and only my orange lights in the bumper are blinking. Any idea where to start with this? From research it seems replacing the Integrated Control Unit could be the first step, part number 38600-sh3-a111-m1 however I can't find that on Rock Uuto and it says it is discontinued on Hondapartsnow https://www.hondapartsnow.com/genuin...0-sh3-a11.html

If I search that part number on eBay I get the entire fuse box come up. Is this the right part number/name for what I'm looking for?

You would have to find a ICU used because they don't exist in the aftermarket. The part number you are searching for looks correct.. I think there are a few PNs for it depending on year. Some end in A11. Check yours.
