Icon5 p2a8 - is there a longer gear trans?

A friend of mine currently has a p2a8 in his 2000 prelude. He did have the stock non-atts 5 speed before and replaced with the aforementioned. Stock trans 2nd is 1.95 and the p2a8 is 1.807. Is there a transmission that has a longer second gear? When he runs on the street races with some of our friend....his stock trans wouldn't get up to snuff in 3rd gear at the end of a run and vtec would barely kick in.....but with the P2A8...it seems he can run nearly the full run before hitting rev limiter. Is there a 5sp trans that would have like a 1.77 second gear?

i did search the forum and reviewed Krohn's data and didnt find anything. Other option is...super short 3rd gear trans or are there manufacturers of custom gears?

thanks in advance,

WotB

Longer gearing is just going to make him slower.

When he went from stock to p2 he actually was able to stay in second and gain 10mph before hitting the limiter.

Higher top speed in a gear doesn't make it accelerate faster. It will make it accelerate slower usually.
