Default bvans CRX rotten to racing

Going to start organizing this build thread.
I sold my first CRX and project RSX back in March. I bought another CRX and have gone all out.
Been wanting to build a true CRX project since I was a kid... So, here it is so far.

Any parts that are listed but not pictured I own but haven't installed yet. Going to reserve a couple posts so I can post the vehicle's history on page 1.

The car is currently not running yet. I need to finish wiring and put in the wireworx harness. Ignore hideous eBay headlights and corner lights. They came on the car when I bought it. Haven't had my SiR front end painted yet.

A little bit of the beginning.

I was told she was "very well maintained." I saw otherwise as soon as I lifted her up. Big orders from Hardrace and eBay finding oem parts ensued.

The day I got her.

I drove it to work to have a mobile VIN verifier come and get it registered in California. Half way to work she started running on 3 cylinders. We toughed it out on the way to and from work. Then I realized the whole harness was cut up and spliced everywhere. Proceeded to jack it up, and saw all this.

EVERY bushing was toast. Undercoat was practically gone. Ball joints done. tie rods done. Bummed I paid so much for the car, but life goes on.

I've replaced every bushing, the undercoat, transmission, shifter, gasket, etc. to bring her back. Even went as far as a new rack and pinion. I sold every Honda-kid part I could. RPF1s, recaros, rear visor... lastly is the from end.
The build can be followed on my IG, @bvans

Looks pretty much perfect....

I used to have the same 6UL's in black. I really like the beryllium finish. What size tires, 225/45's?

ya 225/45. Had them in the garage so threw em on. I’m sure the alignments terribly off after everything i’ve done so i didn’t want to drive to the alignment shop with brand new tires.

The sizing looks great tho, I would stick with the 225/45. I have a set of the same size RS-3's sitting in my garage too lol.

What a clean build! Blown away with the brakes, damn thats a nice setup. Did you roll the front or rear fenders? I'm surprised it would fit a 15x8 with a 225 and a wheel spacer in the front.

no spacer! Thats when i had cf48’s on the car.

The fenders will be rolled when the car goes in for paint. Ef8 front end and quarter panels being repainted!

The red Recaros really set it off on a red car with black interior. Finding a crx that clean in my area is impossible, nice work man!

Looks amazing! Did you paint your trim? It all looks nice and black unlike the washed out grey most of them look like.

Oh hell yes! A ITR valve cover peaking out of the engine bay would set this car on fire!

What did you use to paint your trim? Do you have any pics of that process, or learnings from it? I NEED to do mine, just had the car painted and the trim looks awful. Half new/half old.

WOW just found this build and followed on iG. Beautiful build. Carefull with the Yonaka, i have the same exhaust and the resonator cracked from being hit twice, but it was a small scrape as i am very careful with trying not to scrape.

Also did you end up changing the rack and pinion? What brand did you get or supplier?

Also why did you add the Scarebird Rear Drum to Disc Brake Conversion Plate, I thought they were just bolt up and i am in the middle of rebuilding my trailing arms but did not know i need a plate.

I have a tanabe medalion touring catback. I got rid of the yonaka long ago. Need to update the original post.

The rack is whatever brand was at oreillys haha. It was 250 at oreillys but i found it online for 130 i believe.

If you’re reusing the trailing arms from your drum brake setup you must get the scarebird conversion.
