Default DB7 “Budget” Build Thread

Hello all , I’m new here and new to Honda’s/Acura’s .. I’m learning as I go so be easy on me haha .. I’ve always liked how integra’s have looked so I finally decided to purchase one: A green DB7 with 144k on it. Got it for 1600 off of a couple who had it sitting and wanted it gone.
Here it is

Picked up some EmUsa LCAs and subframe brace right away... I know I know lol, but BUDGET build!!

Picked up some I think Reps of rota gt3s, as well as Ktuned K1s. The wheels aren’t the prettiest but they were 150 bucks so I figured why not. I picked the coilovers up from a friend for $700.

I would keep the oem wheels on, remove the tint & pinstripe, and install the suspension.

Tint removed, rear window visor installed.. don't know how I like it though, lol.
Suspension installed, I want to get the pin stripe removed but it is almost embedded into the paint, looks like it was put overtop of the old one almost.. not to sure.
but here it is now, I want to see what those gt3s look like on the car, might go a different route if I can find some better wheels.

Ebay tie rods

Idk my friend, any suspension bits that are responsible for keeping the car on the road I might not cheap out on. You can get acceptable aftermarket replacements from places like RockAuto or Partsgeek for very reasonable prices.

heck ya, for the age those look really good. At some point, i'm going to have mine redone. Too much neglect to the leather before i got the car.

it seems this car was decently taken care of before I got it, the previous owner had it sitting for almost a year.
I would think buying a set of oem seats would be cheaper than having them redone though.

Most definitely, but its near impossible to find oem leathers in decent shape. no one takes care of them lol.

Kinda funny to hear somebody say the Integra seats are uncomfortable and that they want to replace the shift ****. Those are two of the most noticeable differences between a base model Civic and an Integra. Most people replace their stock seats with Integra seats and same with the shift ****.

I don't think the Integra seat swap into Civics were popular because they were more comfortable. It was due to the Integra seat looking sportier and being a bolt-on affair with no huge modification to fit in a civic. Same can be said about the Integra shift **** being used in Civics. If the **** needed to be modified to thread onto a civic shifter, many wouldn't put forth the effort.

Eh, I'd have to disagree. I think the reason people swapped the Integra seats into Civics was yes, it's a direct bolt-in, but also it has more bolstering than the economy car seats that the Civic came with stock. Del Sol seats have more of that "look" with the pin stripe down the middle of them and no adjustable head rest. As far as the shift ****, I think it feels the most comfortable out of all the other OEM shift ***** (Accord, Civic, Prelude, etc.)

Got the eBay tie rods put on today. Haven’t driven the car yet, waiting until I have to drive it to the alignment.
Got these hankook Ventus V2s in today... (not permanent just something cheap for the GT3s)
Also ordered all LED bulbs for the car aswell as a set of headlight bulbs for my DD. Got the bulbs in today.

Watch using LED and HID bulbs in the stock headlight housings. The stock projectors weren't designed to work with LED and HID bulbs, so you might get a lot of glare.

Glare isn't the issue with stock Integra projectors and aftermarket HID/LED bulbs. Like you said, the stock projectors were designed to work with a halogen bulb. Using an HID bulb with this projector will have a narrow dispersement of light with no cut off line. You'll have brighter light output but nothing clean or even comperable to what any true HID headlamp setup puts out. I would assume in this build, the function isn't as important as the form.

Only thing so far that killed me is the $700 used suspension purchase. Skunk2 and Tein coil setups can be had for under that...Brand New.

But regardless where this build ends up going, just make sure to wear your safety belt while operating this vehicle.
