Default Is There a Trick to Installing a Lower Timing Belt Cover?

I have removed my lower timing belt cover on my 1998 Acura 2.3CL twice. I had to really force it out both times and forced it back in with a jack the first time. When I removed it the second time, it was too damaged, so I cannot use it again. I was wondering if there was an easier way to remove and replace the lower timing belt cover? It looks like the only way to remove it without damaging it is by removing the engine first.

The only way I know is - patience. Move it up, move it down, move to the right, move it to the left and it will eventually go.

If somebody knows a better way I will be happy to learn...

A jack!? Wow, seems excessive, I think at that point you know something isn't right. All the timing covers I have done (none on my 02 yet) have come off fairly easily, as long as you have all the bolts out. They are usually held in by a few 10 mm bolts. According to the 98-02 Accord manual a few 10mm on the top timing cover, take that off, take the crank pulley off and a few more 10 mm on the bottom should come off.

I know on my 1997 accord 0the timing mark pointer is in the way..all you have to do is remove the drivers side crossmemeber and pry it downwards with a pry bar and wedge the lower cover in..
