Default 96 Honda Accord Lx f22b Single crank, no start

So I've had some issues getting my Accord to start the past couple days since I would get a single crank after a full key turn and then nothing. The day before and yesterday the car would only do this once and then start up immediately on the next turn (definitely a little on the rough side with a short grinding sound accompanying it which wasn't an issue before.) But as I attempted again today I was left with disappointment as that single crank is all I get. Fuel pump primes and I can see the belt turn when I try to start her but it'll just give a short spin and then nothing. I've only been investigating for about 2 hours so haven't been able to rummage through too much info so at this point anything helps. Battery is also good and I've checked my starter signal wire and anything else coming out of there that I could get to just out of curiosity. Have yet to find a bad ground but some are proving troublesome to get a look at. Thanks in advance!

can you remove the starter and have it checked? or use a remote starter and bypass the ignition part of the starter? btw, just replaces starter in my civic and it was working, but very weakly and only off the car.
