Default F22A4 vs. F22A6. ( Or look close before you open mouth and insert foot. )

No I don't want to know which is better !

I have read several F22 "guides" that list the '91 EX as having the F22A4 and the '92-'93 as having the A6. I own a '91 EX 5 speed and a wrecked '92 EX 5 speed I am rebuilding. Parking them side by side the motors appear to be identical as far as the IM, etc, a friend's '93 EX definitely has a different manifold, etc. I thought the IM was supposed to be one of the main differences between the A4 and A6. OR is there also a difference between the '92 and '93 A6's ?

The exhaust manifold is different as well.

I'd like to know the difference between the F22A4 and F22B2.

Yeah, that too and on my '91 and '92 they are identical and the '93 was slightly different in appearance. Both my cars and my friend's '93 have their original stock motors. I'm confused. Is it possible '92 was a transition year and some early ones got the left over A4's ? Or were the guides I was looking at in error ?

F22A6 motor was first introduced in the 91SE if that explains anything.

It appears to me that contrary to what I've read my '92 EX has an F22A4 not an A6. "?"

I'm risking myself here but I think it's the OBD1 ecu that's different, with a different mapping.

Nice try, but wrong. No OBD2 in 94 and 95 when F22B2's were running around all over the place.

Oh brother, now I REALLY feel like a DIPSHIT !!!! The '92 IS an F22A6 and after taking a 2nd and better look it does have a different IM. on me .

Well, like the old saying goes, "Sometimes I say things I haven't even thought of yet." Maybe I better change my sig to that and find a picture of Ray Charles for my avatar...............

Yeah, but I'm "supposedly" old enough to know better LOL. That was a rookie mistake and I'm feelin' pretty stupid right now. All I can say is it must be all the BAD things I did when I was young, dumb and full of.........uhhhhh, well you know, catchin' up with me now.
