Icon5 Changing stereo ground to reduce interference from cig-lighter charger?

Every time I charge something through the cigarette lighter I get crackling through my stereo. I'm planning on installing a dash-cam soon but I really don't want to have to deal with the interference when I listen to FM. I remember reading somewhere about the ground for the stereo being the problem, has anyone tried changing this? Were you successful? If you have a How-To, that would be great! I looked at the manual, found the ground directly behind the stereo, but the 10mm nut is facing away and is a bit hard to get to, not sure it's worth the effort?

Thanks for any help

Bump.
From what I read on other forums for other cars, sometimes it's just the quality of the charger that causes that to happen. My concern is if that's not the case with mine and when I install a dash-cam, if it's still going to happen.

Do you have a dashcam? Do you experience any of the static/loss of signal strength on FM stereo?

Depends on the noise. Many times its the + line that is noisy, you'll hear a high pitch whine with the RPM. They sell in-line noise filters for this. For the ground, I usually use a bolt in the chassis/firewall somewhere.

Thanks for that, I don't hear an rpm whine so I'm fairly certain it must just be the ground then.
