Default 3000 RPM with check engine light

Hello 👋🏻 I have question so my car has this problem of only reving up to it max for two seconds before the check engine light come up and instantly drops it to 3000 rpms and stays there. What could it be ?? I have an Acura integra 1990 with a B20b engine in it with a lighter flywheel. Also would the lighter fly wheel cause this ?

I’m using the stock ecu that came with the car which originally had a b18b engine it.

So when you hit redline for a few sec it goes into limp mode with a 3k rpm redline after correct?

After turning the car on and off does the redline go back to 8,200rpm?

You most likely need the proper ECU if your using the B20 engine swap.

unplug the battery or ecu to clear the code that's causing the new 3k rpm redline from the limp mode.

Yeah you’re correct it goes into limp mode after being on for about 2 seconds which is when the check engine turns on and no I don’t think it goes back to its max rpm by simply turning it off without disconnecting the battery and if it does it would only be for 2 seconds I believe. I think you are right I might need the ecu.
