Default Need help with exhaust 97 Integra GSR!

Looking to purchase a new exhaust and header for my 97 Acura Integra. I need an exhaust complete with cat converter. Anyone know of any good exhausts that comes with a cat converter with a deep sound?

I need opinions and links!!

Most of the exhausts im finding online don’t come with a catalytic converter so I’m getting a bit confused. Please give me some insight peeps

No I live in PA, I’m deciding on if I should by stock exhaust with a cat converter or a racing exhaust that I can just remove the cat after the inspection. The one I have on now doesn’t have a cat converter and it’s welded where the converter should be so yea lol

I just need to know some good deep sounding exhausts that come with the full package or if I need to buy them separately and take the loss in a good deal...

I am not familiar with how strict PA's emissions laws are.

Some states have a pretty loose inspection where they just want to make sure there are no check engine lights an everything is in order. Some might want you to pass a sniffer test and some will want all orginal/ CARB approved parts etc....

Exhausts don't typically come with cats. They're usually called "cat back" exhaust systems because they replace everything behind/after the cat. You utilize your stock cat or test pipe or whatever. So, you will need to figure out the cat situation yourself. You can buy a magnaflow replacement cat and have an exhaust shop weld it up to your system, then pair it with any off the shelf exhaust you end up going with.

I don’t know what exhaust I have on my car currently but I do know that it’s welded where the cat is supposed to be. So either I’m going to have to buy an exhaust with a bolted cat that I’m going to have to buy speerarely or try to find a complete exhaust setup with a cat already on it (even if it’s a stock exhaust). What do you all think I should do? I need a cat just to pass inspection.

Depends on your budget. Be careful buying a used OEM cat--most of them are no good anymore since they're so old. I took a gamble on an OEM cat that "looked" ok, but it only lasted a month before it went bad and gave me a CEL. If you have the budget, i would just buy a new magnaflow cat on eBay and have an exhaust shop weld it up for you. They can even put it in your existing system so you don't have to buy an entirely new exhaust system--they will just cut out the area that your cat is supposed to be in and weld the magnaflow cat in. Make sure it's the correct magnaflow cat that is smog legal for your state though--go to Magnaflow's website to get the correct p/n and then buy it on eBay.
