Bought a used 2005 Honda Accord LX 2.4 L 4D Sedan last week......radio was not working....checked radio fuse (found empty slot #5) and purchased/placed new one in #5, checked fuse #9 and #32 and it was OK, radio worked, played it for about 10 minutes in the evening yesterday with happy mood finding it was a easy fix. But, the radio was blank and displayed nothing with ignition ON today morning ,..... checked all fuses (#5, #9, #32) and all those fuses are good......radio backlight is ON but nothing displaying and no effect when buttons pressed.........

I have spent hours trying to find possible causes and fix for it without any success............. Read lots of Honda owners complaining about similar issues but none reported solution............. Has anyone faced and fixed similar issue.

Did you ever find a solution to your radio issue? Mine in my 2005 accord LX has been doing the same thing for the last 2 years. It's very intermittent and extremely annoying. Not only does the music stop but the clock and back light will disappear for a few seconds.

 

The solution for mine doing this was to "replace" the radio with an aftermarket one mounted in the storage bin.

 

 

I didn't feel like chasing wires so I put in an aftermarket stereo. $100 for the stereo and another $25 for the dash kit. Metra 95-7862 Dash Kit

 

Our '04 Accord would cut out and make the loudest white noise sound intermittently. It was finally diagnosed as an internal tweeter short. We didn't want to do an aftermarket. So there is a company on eBay that you send your radio to and they'll repair it and send it back. I don't recall the cost but it was way cheaper than replacing.
