Default Pirelli P7000 SS $160 a tire installed! but only $106 from tirerack.com

Belle Tire wants wants $160 per tire installed. I find it hard to believe that mounting and balancing is gonna cost $54 bucks per tire. If so then DAMN THE MAN!!! I'm think it may be better to order them from tirerack.com and have them balanced and mounted by a local tire shop by my house, one that isn't bent on world domination through outrageous prices (i.e. Belle Tire). What SHOULD these tires cost me? Might Discount Tire be cheaper?
Peace

It's generally considered that "installed" also includes disposal, mount and balance, valve stem and some other misc stuff.. Looking at a recipt from wheel works that I found laying around it was (prices per tire) $6 for mount, $14.48 for balance, $2 disposal. Comes out to be around $22 per tire, then you need to factor in shipping from tirerack. Which is around $30 for the lowest for all 4. Comes out to around $136 before taxes and other misc fees that I forgot.

Though if you're looking for a tire you may want to consider the P-Zero's if you're running the stock size. $92 a tire and the performance is on par w/ the SO3's and Pilot sports. YES I realize that they're much less forgiving than each one of those tires so don't start with the "hairy" P-zero handling. It's just another option. I purchased them, and will probably mount them sometime early next year.

My local NTB will match the price if you bring in a printed copy of it from the TireRack website. They add $15 per tire to cover shipping and profit. Then they add the mount, balance, disposal fee and taxes. If you want the "protection plan (includes lifetime balance and rotation) that adds another $14 per tire. Now we are up to something like $15/tire less than full retail on my RE730s. Give em a look-they will compete.
BTW: I insist on stick on weights-they are no extra charge and balancing within 1.25 ounces-these guys work hard for me and I appreciate it.

Okay, what are some good all season high performance tires? I may not be able to afford the P7000s, and might be looking for something cheaper. I want performance, but can't afford a set of winter wheels yet so I'm stuck with all-season, yay. If you know of a tire that fits this bill, please let me know with some pros n cons of the tire (if u can). Thanks everyone. Peace

Well i just went reading on tirerack Well there is only 3 all seasons there. the OEM tire RE 92's, and Firestone GtA02 and Goodyear RSA's Not sure that i would buy a Firestone tire....
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....m=05HR6FHGTA02
Then there is the Goodyear Eagle RSA http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....rtnum=05VR6RSA
Then the stock tire... http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....um=05VR6RE92IN
But that is all they have for all season tires... Prolly not much of a help? But all seasons are a comprimise, between wear, wet traction, dry traction, and snow traction. The dry traction suffers greatly when using a all season tire.
