So, as Honda's are usually made fwd. I was wondering if and how it would be possible to convert to rwd or awd. Something to throw off the norm...
The short answer: Yes, with enough fabrication anything is possible.
The long answer: Realistically, AWD would be simpler than RWD simply because AWD copmponents for a similar chassis already exist in the form of the CRV. Get the CRV AWD 5-speed gearbox and transfer case, center drive shaft, rear differential, rear hubs, rear brakes, and the entire rear suspension/subframe from a K24-equipped (early 00's) CRV. Relocate your fuel tank to the spare tire compartment. Fabricate new mounts for the trailing arms. Fabricate rear differential mounts. Have custom length CV axles and driveshafts made. get oval exhaust, widen your exhaust tunnel, or hood/fender exit your exhaust.
RWD? I wouldn't know where to start. CRV has a 70/30ish FWD/RWD bias, the rear diff and transfer case isn't strong enough to carry the full load. Furthermore, the whole front body would have to be tubed and have custom body panels to even make a longitudinal engine layout possible. Even then, you'll probably have to cut into the firewall to jam a transmission in there, and make a center driveshaft tunnel. S2K rear end is the only worthy one that comes to mind. YOur other RWD option is to mount the engine in the hatch, and at that point you're kind of on your own.

DAMN. Sound like $$$$$. And a lot of research. Thank you for filling me in on this. It would be a full project but if I actually do start this, I will finish it. In the mean time I should probably look for a second car to have something. Lol.
Older 6th gen civic and teggys have done it with CRV gear to great success, and there are RSX's out there with AWD kits. The 6th gen drop in setups can be had for $4k-$6k after labor, to put some perspective into it.
again, 6th gen, but interesting. https://honda-tech.com/forums/tech-m...oject-3268963/
