Default D16Y8 Head Gasket - Compression

I have heard that you can take the stock D16Y8 Head Gasket (3 piece metal gasket) and take it apart to make it thinner to up your compression. Is this true and has anyone done this. Was thinking about doing it if it can be done safely.

Any web places showing this?

Thanks for any help

the D16Y8 gasket is pretty thin to begin with,i wouldnt take it apart,if anything,if your gonna do all that work to get at the gasket, just have the head milled to raise the compression.
