2000 honda civic blower motor upgrade?
Hi can any of you Honda gurus tell me if on a Civic LX 2000, you can upgrade and put a stronger blower motor for AC in??
If so can you please provide part # or company that has a stronger one. My AC is cold as Ice just very weak as compared to newer cars.
Thanks

Likely yours is clogged up. Remove the blower motor and look for:
* Mouse nest in the ductwork
* Mouse damage to blower wheel
* Evaporator fins blocked with debris
The last one really requires removing the evaporator from the car to clean properly, which means recovering and recharging the refrigerant.

Checked blower, no mouse no nest fins are fine and run quiet.
What I am asking is if anyone knows a stronger blower that is compatible with this car so that the air conditioned air can blow stronger?

I am not sure of any that would a direct replacement, if anything you would have to take apart the assembly and physically swap motors, but this is assuming that motor is more powerful and the car can supply the appropriate power to it. I put a new OEM one in my EM1 a couple years ago after the original failed (mouse nest in it) and it would just about rip the skin off of your face with the amount of air it pushed out.
Other than some sort of blockage it is possible some of the ducts for running air aren't connected properly or the foam used to seal them are falling apart allowing air to come out of the ducts. The only one I could think of that might be an "upgrade" would be one for a 97-01 CRV, pretty sure they share the same blower box/A/C evap assembly and the blower motor itself Honda shows a different part number (some aftermarket units show the same part number for civics & crv). But it is also double the price of the 96-00 civic one, at least from honda.
However I have never tried this, so I am not sure if it would be compatible or not.

Awesome thx. Well I may splurge $120 vs 40 oem sv aftermarket and see if a 20 yr replacement blows more. It’s worth it in Texas! Ha
do you have any diagrams of duct work??
do you have any diagrams of duct work??
I do not, other than looking on an online dealer parts catalog, such as hondapartsunlimited, you would have to look at factory service manual. Which you can find online in pdf form free to look at, that is where I got mine awhile back, if I get a chance I may be able to take a look and see if I can find anything, I am at work currently and don't have access to the pdf.
2000 honda civic, its now 2018. 18 yr old car. your vents could be leaking into the area behind the dash. Blower motor resister is garbage. Your controls could be wonky. Your blower box vent system not functioning.

2. Correct me if I'm wrong....air goes from the blower motor through the evaporator then into main ducts (behind the radio) then up to the 4 different vents???
3. where are locations to check if vents leaking behind the dash?
4. Lastly, you are suggesting blower motor resister...so the part that "powers" the blower motor is now not providing original power?

Remove the motor and use a camera or mirror in the hole to see how much crud is in your evaporator. There is no cabin air filter, so all the leaves and stuff that drop into the cowl inlet over the years will end up in the evaporator fins.
