Icon4 Mis-shifted from 3rd to 2nd at around 56mph What now?

I drive a B16A2 swapped EJ1, and last night while I was having some fun, I mis-shifted from 3rd into 2nd. There was really harsh deceleration (but my reverse gear is working like a charm, so apparently I didn't mis-shift into it) and I pressed the clutch as fast as I could.

I was going around 56mph, and don't quite remember where in the rev range I was (but I was above 5500, that's for sure). It all happened way too fast for me to take notice of everything going on with the car.

Anyway. It scared the **** out of me, and as soon as it happened I extended my route back home to run some "tests" to see if everything was fine, and apparently everything was (except the smell of shame that I was reeking of).

However I did some research and bumped into the Rod knock problem. This morning, after absolutely zero sleep (thinking bout my rod bearings), I started the car and checked for odd noises, and everything seems exactly how it used to be.

Does it take a few days for the knocking to begin? Should I open the engine to check for damage quickly in order to prevent a full rebuild? Or am I just being over protective?

unless you have altered the transmission, 56mph is 2nd gear should be fine.
most US OEMs try to get to 61-62mph in second gear to get better 0-60 times.

You're fine, don't worry about it. 56mph in 2nd isn't too extreme anyway.

I think yer fine, I accidently put my '07 into second gear down shifting from 6th when I was doing going over 125 KPH probablyy close to 130 KPH. I was logging at the time and in that split second, I bounced the engine over 9000 rpm.

The car is fine as it was just a fraction of a second before that clutch was immediately shoved back in.

Your car going from 3rd to 2nd.... No problem.
