Play on crankshaft gear/drive?? D15Z7
Hello everyone!
I am new here and need some serious help with my 97 Honda ek3 which powered by the D15Z7
First of all let me just cut the long story short so I don’t have to remind me of the major headache I have been through.......so whilst I was driving on the highway my haramonic balancer fell off >.<
So I took it in to get fixed BUT the country I stay in we don’t have any proper garages or mechanics (It’s a place called SWAZILAND google it)........ANYWAYS to my surprise the guy didn’t know what he was doing and put 3 washers on my crankshaft bolt and didn’t even use the OEM bolt so yeah I just took matters into my own hands and stripped the engine so I could replace everything.
So I am currently in the process of finishing it but I noticed there is a slight play on the crank gear, by that I mean I can move it left and right......I haven’t put the key way in yet cause I have to get it made...
can anyone one please tell me if this play is normal :/

Are you sure? Because the crank gear has its own key built onto it which fits the bottom end of the crank key way and also the crank gear built in key seems to be smaller than the key way fitting >.<
thanks for the reply, I just want to make sure everything is 100% fine before I put it back....
