car bogging randomly/ wont start
i have a 1998 honda civic the car randomly started to bog a little while i was driving then it went away , then around high rpms it would start bogging again but sometimes it would bog sometimes it wouldnt at high rpms eventually it will shut off while driving but i could feather the gas to keep it running, now it wont turn over at all but the belts move.
Intermittent issues can be hard to diagnose. An obd2 live data scanner would be handy to diagnose the bogging as issue as it happens. Can buy them cheap on amazon:
Other than that try checking spark quality. Inspect air filter, Clean the throttle body. The distributor's coil (ICM) and/or igniter can cause bogging issue intermittently when they are failing (but not completely failed). They can be ohm's tested but the best test is to check the spark gap using a a long screwdriver to ground. A weak coil can often completely fail when live tested this way but that'sa good thing in this case because it indicates it needs to be replaced anyway.
