Default Acura Integra project

I’m new to the forums and I’d like some advice. I’m considering buying a late 90s Acura integra and turbocharging, doing coilovers, etc. I’d like to know the best years for it and best engine. I’m thinking b18 but are the b16s or b20s any better? Also what other engine modifications do I need to do to prep for turbocharging? Pistons, connecting rods? I’ve been looking at greddy turbo kits and I think that’s what I want to go with. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It all depends on what your power goals are. How much money do you want to put into it/how rock solid reliable do you want it to be? I could slap a ebay turbo kit on my car and almost literally do nothing else and have fun with it. Or I could build a 450whp daily driver. Two VERY different builds. Anyway RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH. Turboing and building Hondas is a topic that has been discussed 48 million times on this forum and others. The road ahead of you will require a lot of your own research and not relying on others to tell you so it's best to start honing in on that skill now. There are threads everywhere about building and turboing with a plethora of comments with information for you.

Well I’d like to make about 300 horsepower. 500 at the most. I want something reliable but I don’t want to have it as a daily. I want it as a street/track car I can have some fun with. I’m pretty new to turbo charging but I have some base knowledge. I’m willing to spend about $1000 for the turbo kit and I’ll have to look into parts for other engine modifications to get a good estimate.

These are two COMPLETELY different builds, and different vehicles in how they behave. Better narrow down this number a little bit.

Have you ever driven a lightweight, fwd car with 300whp?

Sorry but that's not gonna cut it. You're better off buying a quality kit up front, than paying for it down the road by constantly fixing everything.

Just go low miles b18 turbo stock internals with ecu management 300hp you should easily make and have fun with. If you go with b18 ls make sure you replace rod bolts with arp bolts. B18c (gsr) and b16 bottom end are stout so no need to touch it.

500hp you would need to replace with aftermarket pistons, rods, bearings and ecu management etc etc to make it reliable daily and cost lot more.

just make sure you tune it.
