93 10th Anniv Accord won't start
I have recently acquired a 1993 Honda accord. Usually, it starts right up, runs like a top. On two occasions so far, it turns over like a champ (battery is nearly new) but just will not even begin to pretend to catch and run. In both cases, waiting for "a while" and the problem healed itself. After lots of cranking, I smelled no fuel at all. But I don't know if the fuel injection system might keep that from happening, and what I really have is spark issues? Any help/thoughts appreciated. Car was well maintained but kept outside for most of its life.
A common problen on these cars is the main relay going bad. If, when not starting, you spray some starter fluid into the throttle body and it starts to catch, I would probably swap out the main relay.
You can do a dirty test for fuel when it's not starting by pulling the fuel rail bolt. It's a 17mm head bolt. If fuel doesn't squirt out then it's likely the main relay is bad.
Main relay is more likely when the car interior is extremely hot.
