how do i start an engine that is on an engine stand...recently assembled a d15b7 engine and want to know if it will start when i put it in the car
Nobody does that.
You can do a compression test out of the car though. The timing belt parts, starter and transmission need to be attached and have oil in the engine. Then power up the starter with jumper cables. This is typically done to evaluate a used engine before buying or installing it. A properly rebuilt engine is going to start.
