2002 Honda Civic si ( Canada ) intake air sensor
hey I was wondering if I could get some help with a wiring question. My sister brought me a cold air intake for my 2002 civic. I think it’s the wrong one. It fits and all the piping routes fine. But the air intake sensor isn’t long enough to reach the bung. So now my check engin light is on and it kinda runs not so well. Lol. Can I splice these to run an extra 6 inches? And if so what type of wire is needed to do this properly?

You can extend the wires as long as it is a 2 WIRE intake air temp sensor. If your particular application has the IAT built into the Mass Air Flow meter with a 5 to 7 wire plug, DO NOT extend those wires. Good multi stranded wire 14-16 gauge will do the trick.
Thanks a bunch! Best news I heard all week. I appreciate your time to reply man
went out and got some 18g wire and re routed the wiring and extended it about 8 inches. Check engine light is off and the car is running perfect. Was super sketched about cutting the factory wiring but it all turned out perfect and it worked
