****..some cop said i was doing 77 on a 45..thers no way in hell i did that..

on the ticket if it doesnt say pace/radar does it mean he didnt have one? please some info on how to fight this

 

I got paced by a cop at 80 too, she was not following me for long at all, I would've seen her AND I was getting off the highway doing a 270 degree turn on an exit, so I wasn't going 80... anyone know how to fight those?

 

that sucks!! ive heard rumors that if you ask to see the radar gun and he/she won't show it to you, the judge will drop the case. not sure if this is true though, probably depends on the judge too. good luck fighting the ticket, haters..

 

1. I heard you can request to see the copy of the ticket that the cop turned in and catch any mistakes the cop made and get your ticket dropped

I've witnessed it. I was with one of my buddies in his Trans-Am and he got pulled over, he asked to see the radar gun, and the cop was like, "I'm sorry to bother you two, just slow it down."

i dont think cops have to show anyone their radar gun, matter of fact they dont even have to use one, they can just write you a ticket cause they <U> SAW </U> you speeding..i got this info from a cop that goes to my restaurant all the time..

This is totally true down here. I'm not sure if it applies to anywhere else but my friend asked for a radar when he was pulled over doing 70ish on a freeway. Cop denied it. Sent a letter to the judge saying cop denied radar detection speed. My friend got a note back from the judge saying something about the case being dropped and that it was based on prejudice. Or some **** like that. Try the letter thing. If it doesn't work then *shrugs*.

I don't know about other cities, but in Vegas if a cop pulls you over and you KNOW that you were not going that speed, ask them to show the radar. If they don't show it to you, they can't legally give you a ticket. But what they will probably do is find some other bullshit on your car that is illegal, and they'll write you a ticket for that. But if worst comes to worst, get a lawyer. They'll get anything dropped. And paying for a laywer is much better than paying higher insurance for a while. Hope this helps.

 

Well I was just speaking with an officer yesterday. But here in Florida, they don't have to clock you on the radar. They are "trained" to tell how fast a car is going. They also know how to pace cars and stuff and able to tell how fast a car is going without using radar. You CAN get a ticket for speeding even if the radar wasn't used.

 

i used to live in fla and they have stripes painted specific distances on the road and can determine your speed based on how quick you cross the lines. sneaky planes above radio down to cops waiting to write a nice ole ticket.

 

if it was radar, the gun has to have been calibrated every month, and if the cop doesn't have proof that it was, u can argue that the gun has false readings.

 

go to the police department get the police report for your ticket. if the cop didnt use teh radar gun. easy get a court date and take that cop to court. jus say is that police a genius or something, he can calculate how fast you where going by just watching your car. then if you when put a civil suite against the cop and you request that the cop go back to police school or pay you for all the time that he wasted on you for a bs ticket.

In Canada, that is true, the radar gun has to be calibrated, the officer has to be trained and have a license to use the radar gun, and if you ask, they have to show you the speed on the radar gun!!! Those are the 3 questions we are aloud to ask here in Canada, and that comes from an Highway Officer!!!

And in town, 90% of the cruisers don't even have radar guns, so it's all good, and there no judging how fast I was going type of thing!!!

But how long will it last?????? Plus, we have a shitload of cops cruising!!! Safe place to live

More than likey the pig did not enter in his VPD codes. Which sets a certified date for when the radar gun was checked. Most to all cops just photocopy VPD with new date. The judge can always tell. Plus with a lawyer he/she can find many many other flaws.

Note: White or light car reflect radar gun, so does licence plates. Always travel in a pack of speeding autos.

God damn cops, don't help me when my friends are getting jumped, but they can give me a ticket; which I pay their salery. F*ck em'. Oh well, I guess I wouldn't live in any other nation.

The cop does not legally have to show you the radar gun, you can only request it.

Also, If the officer is trained to deduce speed by sight then he can give you a ticket by guessing how fast you were going. So that would be a reason he didnt check the pace / radar box. However ask the judge how he determined the speed if he didnt use a radar or pace you. If he is not trained for guessing speed by sight bye bye ticket.

 

If he said he knows by sight that you were speeding and how fast you were going, throw a quarter accross the room in court and ask the cop how fast it was going....
