Default 2004 UEX Accord factory racer?

Folks I'm on a fact finding mission here.
I am a Industry but I can find any evidence of this cars existence.

Owners says its a 2004 UEX Accord built in America with a factory race engine, brakes suspension etc from japan.
Heres the good part says its a 3.0 V-Tec that made 490hp from the factory but when he got the factory racer the "Chip" was swapped out for a "Chip" the reduced the hp to 275hp.
Now I'm pretty darn sharp with the motors and have worked in the industry for many years but I've never heard of something like a 490hp motor tuned down to 275hp with a "Chip"
Of course there are no dyno charts or anything like that.
The whole thing sounds bull honky to me but if any of you gurus have the inside scoop correct me.
Cheers.

Sounds like bullchip...lol
Something with close to 500hp honda built would not have just a "chipped" ecu for engine management even in 2004.
What was this alleged accord built for? Land speed? Road race?

Thanks so much for the reply
The Accord was supposed Road Racer in Ky somewhere, had a cage that was removed etc, raced two or three years and was Blemish free.

I agree on the "Bullchip" thats awesome, Ive been industry for a long time and to have a 500hp chipped down to 275 seems ridicules to me.
Ive worked with Factory Honda Superbike and SS efforts, Visited them in Torrance many times and fro working with them none of this made any sense
Any other insight or direct is appreciated

If its a factory built race car it probably wouldn't have had a VIN tag from the start. ECU would've been flashed not chipped, a detune that pulled 200hp would probably leave the car running like crap. If the engine was built to run 500hp NA its lifespan is probably a couple hundred hours, if it was FI and the car is NA now then what it did before is completely irrelevant. I also can't think of any series where a 500hp Accord would fit or be something that anyone would be likely to do.
