2005 Honda Accord No Oil Light on Dash at ACC Key Position
Hi All,
I have an odd issue that hopefully the community can help with. On my 2005 Accord, 4dr EX Sedan, 2.4L 4cyl, my oil light has gone out on my dash at startup. On my instrument cluster I can see all of my lights, except for the oil light, as I turn the key over to the ON position right before I start the vehicle.
I know bulbs can go bad on the cluster, but being that it is the oil light, I wanted to make sure I wasn't having a more serious issue. Oil was changed about three weeks ago by a local mechanic. The light on the dash was also dead before it was changed. The vehicle has about 139k miles on it.
Am I looking at a dead bulb, or possibly a bad wire to the oil pressure sensor?
Thank you,

Reason: Meant to say "ON" key position and not ACC
Re: 2005 Honda Accord No Oil Light on Dash at ACC Key Position
Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position instead of ACC (I) and see if it lights up. Power goes to the gauge for that indicator when in the ON (II) or START (III) position.
The oil pressure light is an LED; so, it is rare if they ever burn out in the gauge due to limited use. Also, it is a SMD LED, more difficult to solder vs. regular through hole LED due to smaller size.
Get under the car and inspect the connector to the oil pressure switch. You can use a spare wire to connect one end to chassis ground and the other end to the connector to see if the indicator lights up when the ignition switch is in the ON position.
