Default Honda Civic Si ignition switch

My friends 99 Civic Si won't start; battery, fuses and fuel are good. The car runs of we jump the starter and give the ignition switch direct power from the battery. The clutch safety switch is there and when we insert the key to the run position the dashldash l don't turn on but the headlights and hazard work fine.

Helpful tips welcomed and thanks in advance.

So no warning lights are on when the key is in the "run" position ??? If you continue to rotate the key to "start" does the engine turn over ??? If not, do you hear any sounds at all ???

The two white wires on the ignition switch should be always live from the battery. They are fed from the underhood fuse box. Check for blown main fuses in that box. The headlights / tail lights and hazards are also supplied by the underhood box, but on independent circuits with their own fuses.

Thanks, I'll double check the fuses, and look at the wiring diagram again
