91 crx si ac questions
Okay so when I bought the car the ac lines and the compressor were in the hatch all were there but the seller told me he planned to just replace it with newer parts. Well the compressor is supposed to work but to save myself sometime and energy I figure I may as well buy a replacement to be sure it works and not have to re vacuum and refill the system if the old one doesn't work. So my question is what ac compressor should I buy oriellys has some remanufactured ones from Murray and aitozone has 4 seasons reman. What brands do you guys suggest?
Also I don't seem to have the bolts to re attach the compressor any idea what size I need

If you're sure you want a new compressor, I'm not sure which brand is better, or if they're all about the same. I am using a Four Seasons evaporator core and TXV in my Civic, but that's probably not comparable to a compressor. I'm still running the OEM compressor with R-134a and PAG 100.
I'd recommend you try out the one you have first, though. Unless you just want to go spend $250+ on a compressor. If you want to try out what you've got, inspect the clutch on the compressor per the manual. If it checks out, clean out all the lines with brake parts cleaner and compressed air, replace all the o-rings and the receiver/drier, hook everything up, and pull a vacuum. If it holds the vacuum, add refrigerant. Worst case is that if you were right all along and the compressor is somehow bad, you're only out an hour or two of work and about $30 in R-134a, instead of $250+ for a new compressor.
For the bolts that hold the compressor to the bracket, I'd recommend going to a junk yard and getting some off a Civic - I think 88-00 should be the same for the bolts.
