Default Transmission replacement

I have a 98 civic ex coupe 5 speed and the tranny is just about worn out and i cant find a tranny for it anywhere. The engine is a d16y8. Can i put a transmission from a 97 DX onto my EX?

Yes you could use a DX transmission. Externally, it is a direct bolt on. Internally, the final gear ratio is different and the bearings are smaller.
