Exhaust setup help
Hey I'm looking at getting this Tanabe T70003 cat back exhaust system
Tanabe T70003 Medalion Touring Cat-Back Exhaust System for Honda Civic Coupe/Sedan 1992-1995 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000N5N7YS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_hIwhBbRJXPT55
with 60mm piping (2.36")
(Stock 95 civic ex exhaust is 1.75")
Currently i have the 2.0" outlet DC Sports HHC5513 header on now.
i also want to get a hi flow cat, something bigger than my old stock one.
Should i keep the header i have now or get one with a 2.5" outlet, Since the jdm itr cat has a 2.5" inlet and a 2.36" outlet, would that be a more ideal setup?
i don't necessarily want an itr cat, but want to know if I should ditch my dc sports header and what would go best with that tanabe exhaust.
i like quiet street ride with performance, even want to add 18" resonator to this.
I have aem CAI, stage 1 exedy clutch, forget what flywheel, s2k cmc, lightweight cam gear on the d series, (i want to do more in the future but nothing too hardcore, that would require more than 60mm piping I'd say) that dc sports header, an old pacesetter exhaust, and an old twin loop muffler. It's all too loud and it's got to change

The +1998 JDM type r cat does have a 2.5" inlet, but it's outlet is only about 2.0", plus it is much shorter, to make up for the longer +1998 4-1 header.
Is that cat back that you are buying 2.36" inner or outer diameter? It could be 2.5" outer and 2.36" inner or it could be 2.36" outer and 2.25" inner diameter.
Either way, I would go with a 2.25" test pipe. One of those 3 piece telescopic adjustable test pipes would make installation easier, (you would be surprised how many different length catalytic converters were made for hondas...).
Then after installing you could go to an exhaust shop and have the test pipe welded up and or maybe have a small 2.25" resonator or high flow cat cut/welded into the test pipe.
(non resonated or high flow cat test pipes will make your car sound awful).
