99-00 Honda Civic Em1 Will Not Start !!!! (Halp)!!!!.
Hi I have a 99-00 civic em 1 with a lsv swap gsr head i have changed the fuel pump ,injectors ,fuel filter, and ecu. The compression test i did was kinda low but it was uniform across the board with 170 on each cylinder. My distributor wiring is suspect but i do have spark and i am getting fuel to the rail .My main relay and fuel pump both come on when i put the key to the on position and the main relay gives two fast clicks and one when the relay turns off.I have an obd1 motor and an obd1 ecu .I know somewhat about engines but i can not find the answer please help anyone PLEASE!!
I would try replacing the whole distributor. My car just shut off while driving and figured it was due to starter but the case ended with new distributor for 99 civic ex manual. Good luck
If it's cranking but not starting (running) maybe it's flooded with fuel in the cylinders.
1) Remove the spark plugs and crank the engine over a few times to force gas out In addition you can use compressed air if you have a compressor to blow into the cylinder to dry out..rotate crank manually to get each cylinder at BDC during compressed air injection.
2) Add a couple of teaspoons of oil in each cylinder to increase compression during cranking after spark plugs are reinserted
3) After adding oil before cranking be sure to press the gas pedal to floor during cranking to disable the fuel injectors and allow maximum airflow into the cylinders.

I will try a spoon of oil in each cylinder to raise compression then air out the cylinders of fuel but fyi my plugs were not soaked in fuel
no spray at all from the injectors and i noticed that on the driver side under dash these two black relays were clicking like a i had a loose connection and at that time the car wouldnt even crank
so i believe my starter cut relay was going bad im replacing now but the problem with injectors i have no idea why wont they fire
i believe the problem lies in the distibutor wiring i read that the ckp or cyp run the duty cycles and tell the computer when it should fir the injectors ...... if i give you my wire colors can you help me match them up ? ive tried using distributor conversion charts but none of them match my wire colors correctly
You injectors do not rely on your distributor to fire. You're relays are clicking because you're running out of power. Recharge your battery.
battery charged car turns over , injectors dont fire i checked them individually on the rail i took the injector plugs off and fed 12 volts straight to the injector and they sprayed......
The "D" series fuel line concerns me... if it wasn't from a '92-95 Civic, it won't allow enough fuel to get into the rail and feed the fuel injectors. Get a '94-01 Integra (or a '92-95 EX/Si) fuel feed line and install it. Don't forget that the large outer opening goes on the fuel rail end facing the "top hat" fuel dampener bolt.
Its fine, I've re-used a d-series fuel line on a b-series before.
The injector fires only when the ecu tells it to fire. the distributor ignites only when the rotor makes contact, which is spun by the engine.
