Default 1996 Honda Accord new distributor

what’s up everyone, going to try to keep this short but I am at the end of my wits trying to fix this now nightmare of a car. I’ve had my 1996 Honda Accord for 5 years now with regular maintenance and tune ups but this past year has been problem after problem after problem. Just recently in the past 2 months I’ve had to replace my starter, my ignition switch, my battery, I changed all spark plugs and all wires, new cap and rotor and it’s been running fine for about 2 weeks. When I changed the cap and rotor I noticed that the distributor had the notorious internal oil leak from the shaft seal, I cleaned all the oil possible out put it back on and last weekend I got off the freeway and pulled into the store and it just bogged out and died on me. The spark plug going to the bottom of the cap where most the oil was pooled up with nowhere to go was super black and more burnt out than the others. The igniter at the bottom of the distributor was soaked and the wires starting to corrode (pictures included) so I came to the easy decision it’s time for a whole new distributor. After it bogged in the parking lot and when I towed it home I could get it to crank and start but the problem was the gas was not burning, I have a small crack in the top of my header going out to my exhaust and gas was spitting out from there not being burnt by the intake. $250 later I bought the brand new distributor and now it won’t start and is actually making a horrible grinding/seizing noise like the whole motor is locked up. I’m aware the shaft can go into different ways 180 degrees however when rotated it only completely goes in and let’s the distributor mount fully on one side so I don’t think that’s the issue. I took all the plugs back off and bumped the motor to clear the gas out, checked the gap on all the plugs, burnt the old gas and cleaned them and put back in, I’ve triple checked spark plug wire/firing order compared to car diagram, I’ve tried fine adjusting the distributor position clockwise and counter by loosening the bolts. I couldn’t get the video of what it sounds like when I try to crank it now to upload here so I’m gonna post on YouTube and add the link here. I do car audio for living so I’m very familiar with many cars but my motor skills and not as sharp as everything else, my pockets are so deep into this car to keep my transportation I am skipping bills and have no more money left after towing and everything so far. Any help with this is greatly GREATLY appreciated.

the 94-95 distributors are different from the 96-97 distributors from the same generation, I suppose it's possible you got the wrong distributor

you can also check all your fuses and make sure none are blown
