Motor has likely been run hard. Could be valve seals, which is not as simple as the cover grommets. So they probably were not changed at the same time.

Check timing? 🤷 Check fuel pressure. Try a few simple things before giving up and throwing in the towel on the motor. The compression is good after all. The smoke is black not blue, no? So it’s likely burning rich/missing not burning oil. Oh! And triple check your firing order! The recent tune up plus the 2 and 3 cel misfire codes plus the ticking: I bet those wires are mixed up on the distributor. Been there... nice looking car all in all.

Replace your spark plugs, plug wires and distributor cap. Sounds like the motor is burning a good amount of oil... I’d do the above and sell it, that si looks like nothing but the previous owners problems.

Rear bumper misaligned, rear lip is half gone, faded paint, **** fender rolling, and no side skirt.

And maybe you should redo the compression test, atleast with a wet test. Cause if it’s burning oil like that it’ll show

Valve seals probably. Could be multiple issues here...check all the vacuum lines. There's a small one on the bottom of intake manifold plenum, closest to the firewall, that likes to crack or come off and it will give you all kinds of idle issues.

Also do this.

It would be white smoke if it was burning oil.

Where the **** did you get bad valve seals from? He didn’t even mention if it’s blue or white smoke.

And maybe you should research better before you go correcting somebody. BLUE SMOKE IS OIL. A little white smoke on startup would be VALVE STEM SEALS.

But are you blind? Did you not see the picture of the rear bumper covered in black soot? He is burning oil.

To see if it is one bad cylinder or generalized, remove spark plugs and inspect their color. Do a cylinder drop test by disconnecting the fuel injectors one at a time while idling. (Do not disconnect spark wires while running.)
