Cigarette Lighter Thermal Fuse Question
I'm installing a cigarette lighter in my 91 civic hatch, base model.
I'd like to add a thermal fuse to the lighter assembly, but I can't find any information about what the temperature should be.
I checked the service manual, the internet, Honda OEM parts, and some forums.....nothing.
I'm leaning toward a 192 degree Celsius, 10 amp thermal fuse, only because it was suggested in a Subaru forum that a piece of solder,
which melts at 192 degrees C, be used as a thermal fuse substitute. However, I'd like a little more reassurance that this temp rating
is safe.
So, 1. does anyone know what the temperature rating is for a OEM Honda thermal fuse?
2, or even what a safe temp rating would be for a cigarette lighter?
As always, thanks in advance for the help.
