2012 Civic Car dies when turning and adjust steering wheel
A few months ago, when adjusting the steering wheel my car turned off. A couple weeks ago, it wouldn't start at all until I decided to mess with the steering wheel, turning it and adjusting it, pulling pushing up and down, until it finally started. While driving, I turned left and it shut off again. I had to pull over, put it in park, and had to mess with it to turn it on again. Sometimes it turns on right away, other times I have to mess with the steering wheel. What could be causing this?
Might be a break in the wiring connecting the ignition lock in your steering column and the engine control module (ECM) under the dash which loses signal from the switch in the ignition lock where the wheel is turned.
Not sure how to fix this though. Maybe start by looking for loose connectors or the wiring at the ignition switch for breaks or grounding marks ( the wires will look burnt or bubbly ).
