Default Twin S tech springs on Tein Street Basis Adjustable coilovers

What up guys
I have a 97 civic coupe with a set of Tein Street Basis Adjustable coilovers. I've had them for a while now but seeing as this car is my daily driver, it is is starting to get annoying on how bumpy the car is. Almost feels like a go kart. My question is, will some Tein S tech springs fit on the adjustable coilovers? I've only read online of people purchasing the S techs and installing them with either their stock shocks or a better aftermarket one. But nowhere have I read of people installing them with adjustable shocks. Sorry if this is a noob question.

Unfortunately, what you want to do is not possible. The Tein S-Techs and every other lowering spring doesn't have a flat base, like the coilover spring that's already on your Street Basis. That means modifying them to fit, but that's not the only problem. The free length of the S-Techs is a couple of inches smaller than the OEM one, which is far too big for the coilovers due to the way they are built. Also, the inner diameter is bigger, and that means the S-Techs wouldn't be able to sit on the spring perch. Your best (and possibly cheaper) solution is to change the springs on your coilovers. Measure their inner diameter and free length and order a set of springs with a lower spring rate than what you have. These are readily available from various manufacturers. You can get them from Tein, Eibach, Swift, Hyperco, Apexi, QA1, Progress and many others.

^^as mentioned....no S techs wont work. Not a flat base and probably not the right inner diameter.

If the shocks aren't blown...then chances are that the car is too low.

Raise it up. A bunch.

Also, is it aligned?

The car isn't slammed. If anything, I'm too high because I have a one finger gap between the fender and tire. The car is aligned but I was told by the shop who aligned it that they could only do so much with the front camber without any kind of adjustable upper control arms. So right now I'm sitting with a slight of negative camber. The rear hasn't been aligned.

I'm sure your front camber is fine and its not causing much issue as long as your toe is lined up.

Are you sure the ride doesn't seem harsh because of outlying factors?

Do you have broken bushings?

Does the car rattle a lot? ...it sounds weird...but try driving with earplugs and see if the ride gets "better". perception may be your issue.

Those coilovers shouldn't ride harshly.

Are they at OR ABOVE the height recommendation in the user manual?

Are they old and busted?

Yeah they don't ride harshly. I guess I'm looking for that oem comfort without sacrificing height. I can feel every crack on the road right now. When the roads are smooth then the car rides awesome but my roads aren't smooth here. As far as the suspension components, everything has been replaced at some point with new parts. The car has always felt the way it does though. Are my options limited to go back to ride comfort?
