Default Why is this car so cheap

I just made this account because I'm a Miata guy and never have had a Honda, I'm completely lost here though so help is greatly appreciated. So some guy on Craigslist is selling a built Honda CRX for -$5000. The car seems extraordinary cheap for the parts that are listed with the car. Can someone help and tell me what a build like this would cost? Any input is great!

If the car itself is in really clean condition ie body, subframe and stuff then 5k with all those parts is a decent deal. Crx's that are really clean inside and out are becoming harder to find and if your a huge fan of them then yea its worth it. Can you post pics or does he have close up pics of everything?

$2000~$3000 tops if it is super clean.

Seems like a decent deal, but you are taking a gamble buying someone elses project. You have no clue how bad their quality of workmanship might be, and how do you even know if all of the parts are really what they say they are?

I fell into this same trap. I though wow, this guy has $10-15K into this car easily, so $5k is a steal! But I promptly had to put another $5k into it, bc all the work he did was either done wrong or the parts were cheap and already shot. With what I've spent now I could've built my own from the ground up, but instead I've just fixed up the car someone else built.

Moral of the story, you never know what you're getting into. That could be a $5,000 headache.
