Feel a lil embarrassed posting for a no start but I’ve been working all day and can not figure this thing out. The engine has fuel and spark and cranks. It starts to fire after being cranked for a bit and almost seems like it will run but dies after the starter is released. The car was automatic dpfi. I ran the injectors from the existing harness and used the two already wired in. I pulled of the valve cover and checked the timing and it is correct. The firing order is also correct. (1 3 4 2) The engine came with no distributor so I set it to the middle and have been making small adjustments to try and start it. The spark plugs and ignition coil are new. I did a compression test before I put the motor in the car and it was pretty iffy, like 150, 90, 120, 90, but it had been sitting for a while so I figured it might be a bit off. I put some oil in the cylinders and the compression went way up so I thought it might be ok to run. The park sensor by the automatic shifter spot is jumped. Sorry for the long a$$ post, but I’m going a lil crazy and would I appreciate any advice. Has anyone experienced this? Sensors plugged in wrong? Ecu wired up wrong? If anyone can think of anything lmk
Gotta get this boy on the road
Did you do the auto DPFI to manual MPFI swap at the same time you did the engine swap, or was it converted to manual MPFI before you put the B18A1 in there? If it was already running as a single cam MPFI swap before you did the B18 swap, I would say it is likely something with the engine. Otherwise, I'd be looking at the DPFI to MPFI wiring.
SOLVED! turns out I had the distributor wired up wrong. (DPFI to OBD1 conversion) Traced every wire rack to the ecu and corrected a few. did the same thing with the injectors and it fired right up.

I have been looking for someone that was having this issue to help me with mine. I have the exact same issue, 91 dx that I'm putting a b18a in and had to DPFI to MPFI convert and I can't seem to get the wiring right so I was hoping that maybe you had the original harness pinout diagram so I can undo what was done and start over. ANYONE PLEASE HELP!?!?!?!?
THANK YOU!!!! I hope this solves the problem. Do you happen to have anything else that is color coded for the ecu pinout. I thought I had to do an OBD conversion considering I'm new at this i didn't realize that both cars were OBD0 so anything in relation to that would be helpful to get everything back to stock. I was instructed via here that I had to wire the resistor box in for the injectors and he injectors to the ecu and haven't been able to get that to work right either. Any ideas what so ever.
