Default 1996 Acura Integra SE with gsr b18c1

Im doing a complete rebuild of my teg, its been torn apart for a couple months now and i haven't had time to work on it , last point i was at was cleaning bottom end up after taking it apart i had to move and it was sat out side in the elements with engine block open

Now besides damage done from that getting left, im looking to do a strong engine build,from the bottom up, but there is ALOT of ways to go, im looking for reliable over all but still want a beefy B series,

im not sure on all the terminology so if if could be kept a bit simple, but looking for some solid advice.

2 thisngs you First thing you need to ask yourself
A. What is your budget for the Engine Build Specifically?
B. What do you want from the Motor? (All Motor, turbo, Big power, power level, street cruiser...)

like you said there are options for days when it comes to building a motor so going in without a bonafied plan will get you nowhere fast

I wanna keep it all motor , i want high performance, but it will also be a daily as well , so i need it to be a strong build but i enjoy the race life as well , and this car is my life so ill make the budget work out some how , the only thing the budget changes is how long it will take to have it fully built and out on the streets, with my bills and every thing it will be a step by step process

Well If it were Me (seeing as how you want to keep it all motor) I'd pull the stock Rods and Pistons and put them up on the shelf, they'll come in handy if you ever sell the Motor. A nice set of aftermarket rods (Manley) a decent set of Higher Compression pistons (Manly,JE,Weisco,etc)
new King or CAL race bearing throughout and that would be it bottom end wise. A set of some Skunk2 Pro2 cams with matching valvetrain componants and a Skunk2 Ultra I.M & matching T.B with whatever intake choice gets ya going, injectors, rail, and whatecer else ya fancy would round off the top end. (Keep the stock B18C cams on the shelf with the OG rods and pistons for the same reason) make your header and exhaust choice + a quality tune and that be about it. But hey that's just how I spend other people's money. You haven't even dipped into refreshing the interior exterior of the car yet.. let alone suspension.. this gets expensive quick if you don't like hunting deals.. but hey there are 1000+ other options out there for thus motor so do your research take your time and have fun

So actually ive spent a good 7k on this car already, had it rebuilt twice by two different shops out in az, i dont think either of them did a good job thats why im doing this rebuuld mostly myself and help of a friend who has had multiple hondas , but i dont get to talk to him much other then at work so im doing reserch my self to step my knowledge up a bit as well . but i Got the racing suspension for it, lowered and all that , never had it tuned or anything , as for the interior , its really not bad only the front seats have a little wear and tear everything else is cherry

Well, I guess you're all good on those fronts than.. and honestly a Honda rebuild isn't all that difficult. Take your time, keep everything within spec (Honda or PART manufacturer) don't cut ANY corners and you'll be fine. Happy motoring

Good luck on the car, keep us posted on what you decide to go with on the motor. And honestly, IMO, these cars are old enough that if you own one, you should be the one doing all the work for it. If you have to take it to a shop to get the motor rebuilt then Integra's aren't for you. So good on you for going the "driveway mechanic" route. Make sure you KNOW the ins and outs of everything your doing on the motor when assembling it. Don't just put parts together. The official HELM's manual is a great place to start for new guys. Just sitting down and reading through entire sections to learn about whatever you doing is a great way to get started. Then from there, forum write-ups (honda-tech, teamintegra, clubintegra, etc.) are good references and there are even a few new Youtube video series on Integra engine builds that are really good on how to do the assembly. Here's one I was following when he released them -
I would sit down and watch through this. It'll give you a good feel on what you're doing but still read through the official HELM's documentation too.

Buy a all motor street long block from 4 pistons and send your head and block as a core. They will send you a solid street engine setup assembled correctly!.
