Default So Cal: Got nothing to do all day.....suggest you burn fuel :)

NOTE:Also works in other places too.

Just wanted to share a way to cure the I'm at home with nothing to do and Gran Turismo is getting boring boredom.

Pack a lunch and hit a canyon. Just pull up Yahoo Maps and look for a long twisty road near you.

Hit the 74 (ortega hwy) yesterday with the misses and just cruised at 45. Had people catching up on the straits and had people falling back in the turns. Took half the day and had a great time, bonus is the places to pull off and relax for a while.

You're right, that is a great way to kill some time. Lots of backroads here in East County, San Diego...going up to the mountains and beyond.

Gonna go again when I got a few hours to kill, after I get my dissappearing-and-mysteriously-reappearing overheat issue taken care of.

Yeah, did you take pics?

whenever you guys are down for a drive hit angeles crest hwy for a nice 20min high speed drive (60-70 mph) combined with a 5 min (10-30 mph) peak climb. its the highest point in the la county.

or

hit azusa through the 210 and north on grand. for a harsh but fun 30min (30-80 mph) canyon cutting, no railing drive. damn some of the FCs and AE86s are fast up there.

oh yeah forgot to mention...dont think your badass with your honda because your autocross events dont compare at azusa..be careful

Pleeeeeze.
Anytime anyplace.

Bring it. There are many more challenging roads than Azusa canyon or The Crest...I'll run you anytime (on a stock suspension too)

For kicks I run blackstar, but always by myself.

I like the southern part of PCH. From Oceanside to San Diego. Less traffic more cruising.

EDIT: Yes I got pics. I will try and get them tomorrow.

people from torrance/ palos verdes area could go to Mira Lest...go down PCH and pass crenshaw and make right at narbonne *i think*...there should be a mobile gas station. Go all the way up. Pretty nice twisty roads along with some straight aways...definately go late at night...lots of cars during day and early evening.

I have Sirius Satelite radio, 100 channels of commercial free music, 10:00 at night, hit the interstate speed limit 70, cruise control at 80, frivilous spurts of about 100mph.................I have been a bad boy...........

I've done that mnay times when i have time to burn, a great place to go is topanga canyon in malibu if your from the LA area. Really fun switchbacks and barely ever any cars if u go late at night. Also really smooth...

hey guys please be careful when listing certain areas. it's cool to share some of em with friends but some sites are better left untainted ,if you know what i mean. i'm not trying to be a snob, but the last thing i want to do is come around a blind turn and run into a kid in his new Si who heard about the spot online.
