2002 EP3 Civic Ate The Tranny - Now What?
Basics: Good condition for its age, 260k miles. Totally unmodified except that a used, rebuilt OEM engine was installed at 180k miles after original motor seized without explanation. Tires with about 80% tread left, new battery, A/C works perfectly. New alternator within last 5000 miles, new radiator last year, full brake job within last 3000 miles.
All the information I have is from a trustworthy independent local repair shop, and they seem confident it needs both clutch and transmission replaced. The transmission is currently removed and the car sits sadly in my driveway.
Clearly, this would be the time to swap to an RSX 6-Speed, something I have wanted to do since I bought the car. I just can't afford it right now. It also would be the ideal time for a K24 swap, but again, budget is just not there. I lack the facilities/tools/expertise to do any of the work myself, which I wish was not the case.
What would you do with this car? I'll take a beating selling it 'as-is' for sure, but don't see any choice. Even the needed repairs with stock items are not going to be cheap. Is it even possible to part it out as it sits, here in the middle of nowhere, Alabama?

I've never taken pics of the undercarraige, and I can take engine bay pics if you like, but bear in mind the transmission and everything needing removal to drop it is not reinstalled (airbox and a few other things).
I'm near Tuscaloosa (so is the car).
