Can I just use a basemap for the ecu or should I get it dyno tuned?

Tune ≠ Basemap

Skunk2 Pro Series IM is essentially just ITR. I'm assuming the throttle body is larger.

A tune would definitely help, not only with power but also response, but wouldn't be required. A stock B16 basemap would be fine for getting around in.

Chance has it right. You won't *need* a tune. But you probably won't notice much difference otherwise.

Well, ”basemap” is just base for everything. Luckily with Hondas we can usyally start with good stockmaps. Which are made to be ”safe”, what means especialy fuel tables are on rich side. So you can make minor modifications which affect volymetric effiency before it ”need” tune. Of course even every stock engine is individual, so stockmap isn’t 100% optimal even then. So what I tried to explain, there’s some marginal but with natural aspired engines gains are always behind the fine tuning. If some modification doesn’t need tune, then it’s not worth of all (exluding some temperature compesated things).
